Dr M.S. Gill, a politician from the Indian National Congress party, is a Member of the Parliament of India representing Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He is also a former Chief Election Commissioner of India. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan. On 06 Apr 2008, he was appointed[1] as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports), replacing Mani Shankar Aiyar.
