Konkona Sen Sharma’s father is Mukul Sharma, a science writer and journalist and her mother is acclaimed film director Aparna Sen.She has a degree in English from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.In 1983, Konkona made her debut as a child artiste in the film Indira.In 2002, she gained attention with the English film Mr. And Mrs. Iyer and received the coveted National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.In 2005, Konkona's appearance in the film Page 3 gave her a wide recognition.In 2005, she followed it up with even more acclaimed performances in 15 Park Avenue.In 2006, Konkona received the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for Omkara.
