Akshaye Khanna is the younger son of actor Vinod Khanna from Vinod's first marriage. His older brother Rahul Khanna is also an actor.Akshaye did his schooling from Bombay International and later from Lovedale School in Ooty. He did his graduation from HR College, Mumbai.In 1997, Akshaye made his debut in his father's production Himalaya Putra, which didn't do well at the box office. In 1997, he starred in JP Dutta's Border, which became the highest grossing film of that year and earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Award.In 2002, he was signed on by Abbas Mustan for their film Humraaz, in which he played a negative role for the first time.
